Holiday trip to Germany
When we have holiday it means that our dogs come, too. So it was this time also. We drove from Finland, through Sweden to RĂŒgen island, Germany where we had a bungalow for a week. It was amazing.
Our trip was home - Naantali (Finland) - KappelskĂ€r (Sweden) - Trelleborg (Sweden) - Sassnitz (Germany) - Garz, RĂŒgen (Germany). Finnlines's ferry left 10.45 a.m and we were in Sweden 6.15 p.m. The ferry from Naantali to KappelskĂ€r had a very small "pee place" for dogs and as you can see our dogs didn't want to use it đ
We drove over night to Trelleborg. Of course we had several stops so that our dogs could walk, drink and eat. Early in the morning we were in Trelleborg harbor and the ferry left 7.45 a.m. The journey took only 4h 15 minutes so we didn't have a cabin.
Finally we arrived to the bungalow that we had rented. What an awesome place. It had everything we needed: it was beautiful, clean, own garden and the owners were so nice. I was so happy I found this place đ I will put a link to their website in the end so if someone is interested I can recommend this place from the bottom of my heart.
The beaches around RĂŒgen are stunning. Soft sand and many of them have space for dogs also. Water was warm and our dogs swam many times.
We visited so many places during this one week and everywhere people were crazy about them. When we opened our van it was funny. So many WOW! WOW! Can I take a photo, can I take a video and the the next 10 minutes paparazzi were surrounding our dogs. And our dogs were so patient, behaving so nice and letting people to pet and hug them. We are so proud of them. And so many new people fell in love with leonbergers đ
Finally it was time to return home. It had been so awesome holiday. Same ferry trips back except that from Sweden came from Stockholm to Turku. We were tired but so happy đ
Here is a link to the website where you can find the bungalow that we rented. It is in German language but you can write them also in English. http://www.mein-erholungsreich.de/

Outdoors with our pack
I was planning to write about how do I take them for a walk but then I found videos of different combinations so I just post those videos.
In the morning or evening when I'm busy or lazy đ I take them all together. They don't pull or run after other dogs, rabbits or anything else. The hardest thing is to be able to control five leashes at the same time. Bono is still young and he changes side all the time. Constantly...
Bono, Pulla and Tytsy I normally take together. They have same energy and they need a long walk. Three leashes are easy to handle.
To the forest we take them all. We have a special place where there are no people and they can run as much as they want. As you can see, Lennu stays with me all the time. She doesn't understand why she should run around đ
Leos love winter and snow. This is from January - we had a lot of snow at that time. And we still had Patu and Tino - I miss them so much đ
Here Patu has already passed away and Bono has joined the pack. Tino is still going strong and being the himself (= pain in the ass đđđ). Barking and being the one that makes all the noise in this family. I never knew how hard it is going to be when we have quiet house. Leos don't make any extra noise. Tino did. A lot.
And after a nice walk in the forest our house looks like this đ

Do they sleep in you bed?
I know I should say of course they don't sleep in our bed but well... Sometimes it is even hard for me and my husband to try to fit in our bed.
Our bed can look like a puzzle. This time it had five pieces.
This one was easier - only four pieces and even space for us đ
I have to change sheets four times a week. Crazy! But look at these happy fellows - waiting us to come to bed.
They are so soft, so warm and you will never have nightmares when they are close to you.
They want to be close - so close that sometimes I'm having problems not to fall of the bed. Living Teddy bears đ

Goodbye Tino
My heart is in pieces again. 2.6 Tino had his 10th birthday and he was a happy dog. On Tuesday 11.6 we had to put him to sleep. My sweet Tino - you and Patu are now together watching over me. We miss you so much đ

Do they really destroy things?
Dogs are lovable, loyal, they forgive you your bad days, they love you unconditionally, our best friends, and - they eat your home when they are puppies. Your home will never be the same.
Mattresses have many springs inside. Believe me - we know.
Ikea's furniture look so much better after styling.
Wires have no chance against dog's teeth.
Shoes. Well. They come and go. Literally.
Passport isn't valid if half of it has been eaten. Especially if your flight should be very early next morning to USA. You just don't fly. We know this, too.
I have a dream of a house that has no eaten furniture, walls, flooring lists and when I look around it is clean. But I suppose we will never have those things and the reason is down here đ

We have a puppy in the house
Loosing Patu was so devastating that the next two following days are just like a black hole in my life. I cried so much that finally there was no more tears to cry. I was numb. We lost our funny, gentle lion king. We lost our family member đ
I am a kind of person that always when I have lost a dog - I have taken a new puppy. It doesn't replace the one I have lost but gives something else to think about. It gives so much joy, happiness and finally I can cry tears of happiness.
Life is a roller coaster - you never know what happens when you wake up. This time we thought that we won't get a puppy - we still have five dogs. But. The house was so empty. Quiet. Our girls where lost - the master of the house was gone.
So, everything happened very fast and still it felt like it was all planned. Maybe Patu arranged things from heaven? He knew that I was grieving so badly that I needed something else to think about. Patu's breeder had available male puppy. Mika was on the way to Denmark with his van. It was so easy to instead of turning back to Finland after unloading his load, just drive straight to North-Germany. And he did.
We have a new family member. This heart breaker has a name Bono and he is just gorgeous. We are so in love. He has given us so much happiness during these six days.
Bono has just arrived home. I'm so in love immediately đđđ
Tytsy loves him and they play together all the time. We don't have quiet house anymore.
I am so thankful that this happy little man is now living with us. He is perfect đđ
